While we are still uncertain as to whether school will begin face-to-face or remotely next month, you will definitely need some supplies for classes with me this year. The supplies listed here will be needed no matter what the class format (face-to-face, remote, or hybrid).
If you are unable to get the supplies you need, let me know and I will help you out confidentially and without judgment.
Here are the lists for each course I am teaching this year:
ENGLISH 4
- A sturdy binder (2″-3″) filled with loose-leaf college-ruled paper
- Binder dividers (you’ll need about 4 of these in total, so if that means splitting a pack with a binder for another course that’s fine)
- Pens & pencils
- A composition book (a roughly 9.75″ x 7.5″ notebook with a non-spiral binding … any color or design is fine)
- OPTIONAL: highlighter(s) and/or post-it notes for annotating texts
AP LITERATURE
- A sturdy 3″ binder filled with loose-leaf college-ruled paper
- Binder dividers (you’ll need 4-5 of these total, so if that means splitting a pack with a binder for another course that’s fine)
- Pens and/or pencils
- Highlighter(s) and/or post-its for annotating texts
- While you don’t need to have these right at the beginning of the year, you will need to acquire your own copies of two novels this year: Beloved by Toni Morrison and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. You may also wish to purchase your own copies of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and/or 1984 by George Orwell, though you will be offered school-issued copies of those two.
